Throughout its history, MBF Bioscience has been recognized numerous times for the quality of our products, being an active member of the community, and a responsible small business. Here are some of the awards MBF has won over the years. 

2013 Tibbet’s Award Winner for Technological Innovation

The U.S. Small Business Administration presented a prestigious Tibbetts Award to MBF Bioscience during a ceremony at the White House in Washington, D.C. on May 16th, 2013. The Tibbetts Award is presented annually to companies who are beacons of promise and models of excellence in high technology. The award recognizes MBF Bioscience for a number of accomplishments: technological innovation, serving federal Research and Development needs, encouraging diverse participation, and increasing the practical commercial use of federal research.

Best Places to Work in Vermont 2010, 2009 and 2007

We earned the distinction of being named one of the Best Places to Work in Vermont three times. The award honors employers who strive to create better workplaces for their employees, in turn benefiting the state’s economy. The list of companies is compiled by Best Companies Group in an effort to recognize excellence among state employers.

2007 Vermont Small Business Person of the Year

Jack Glaser, president and founder of MBF Bioscience, was named the 2007 Vermont Small Business Person of the Year by the US Small Business Administration. Glaser founded MicroBrightField (renamed MBF Bioscience in 2005) with his father, Dr. Edmund M. Glaser in 1987. He was selected for his outstanding leadership related to his company’s staying power, growth, sales, innovation, and community contributions.

Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf’s 16th Annual Ben Blood Anti-Hunger Award (2012)

For over ten years, MBF Bioscience has supported the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, which provides fresh produce, bread, and groceries to Vermont families in need. “I have seen how beneficial the food shelf’s work is,” said MBF Bioscience President Jack Glaser. “They provide a really important service to people who are less fortunate than we are, and I believe that it is a responsibility of businesses to support their local community.”

MBF Bioscience President Jack Glaser appeared on the cover of Business People-Vermont magazine. Grants Awarded

MBF has been awarded over 20 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants to develop a number of successful, innovative products to aid in scientific research.   We have received prestigious grant funding from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
